AUGMENTED REALITY IS CHANGING THE VISION OF INDUSTRIAL AND ENGINEERING APPLICATIONS
AUGMENTED REALITY FOR FAULTLESS VISUALIZATION, PARTS IDENTIFICATION & EDI ORDERING
Using Augmented Reality you can help your employees speed the parts identification and repair process using the actual physical machinery or using a repair manual. A schematic diagram found in user manuals usually omits all details that are not relevant to the information the schematic is intended to convey, but may add unrealistic elements that aid comprehension. For some engineers, field workers or technicians, schematics are sufficient, but for many people, highly complex systems require more realism than offered by a schematic drawing. The ability to blow out and narrow in to specific parts or part clusters, further aids users comprehension, reduces error, and speeds the repair process.
With EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) embedded directly within the application, users can easily and correctly choose the required part, minimizing errors and delays. EDI defines a standard means of exchanging relevant information for B2B transactions.
In partnership with SNC-Lavalin, Miralupa created a custom, white labeled Augmented Reality app to demonstrate training for motor maintenance and operation. The white labeled app blends live objects with AR to run through basic assembly and inspection of different components and can be used as a visual instruction manual using step-by-step 3D instructions. The user sees the steps performed in 3D directly on the motor while looking through smart devices such as glasses, a smartphone or tablet.
